Tom Cruise, car chases, explosions, and quirky Simon Pegg – what’s not to like about the new Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation? As the film’s exclusive automotive sponsor, BMW can be seen throughout the movie, from cars, motorcycles, to new technologies. This film is definitely a must-see, for action fans and car enthusiasts.
BMW showcased several vehicles in the new Mission Impossible, including the BMW M3, the S 1000 RR, X5 xDrive 40e, BMW 6 Series Convertible, and even the first plug-in hybrid series production auto for the company. As highly trained operatives on a special mission to save the world, the film’s characters make expert use of these precision German machines.
“It’s great to see the outstanding results of our exciting cooperation with Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation,” said Ian Robertson, Member of the Board of BMW. “Their dynamic performance, technological leadership and the unique BMW ConnectedDrive system render our BMW models the perfect vehicles for Ethan Hunt (Cruise) and his IMF team.”
Produced by JJ Abrams and directed by Christopher McQuarrie, this film makes use of real BMW technologies, as well. The BMW Mission Impossible partnership lets the creators show systems like ConnectedDrive, camera, and driver assist features—all of which are used to help the good guys win. Who wouldn’t want to drive the same type of car as Tom Cruise?
