BMW’s 3 Series swept the competition in the compact luxury sports sedan class with 99,602 units sold in 2012. In second was the Mercedes-Benz with its C-Class which sold to 81,697 customers. Japanese automaker Infiniti was bumped to third with 59,844 G models sold in 2012.
So if you’ve felt like you’ve seen more of the BMW 3 Series on the road this past year, that’s the reason why. But why do so many consumers like the 3 Series?
The BMW 328i, as pictured below, has a 2.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder engine with 240 horsepower. It has an EPA estimated 23 mpg city and 33 mpg highway for the automatic and 23 mpg city and 34 mpg highway for the manual. The 328i has Star Spoke 17” light alloy wheels, Halogen high- and low-beam headlights, Engine Start/Stop button, BMW Ambiance lighting
in the front and rear, and integrated 3-button Universal garage-door opener.
The 3 Series from BMW includes 5 different trim levels, the 328i being the first.
