Announced last month, BMW expressed their plans to bring more diesel models to U.S. soil.
We have learned that not only will the BMW 3 Series Sedan get diesels, but the Sports Wagon model will as well. There is still speculation that BMW may come out with an X model powered by a diesel as well, but no conformation has been made.
Along with the BMW 3 Series Sedan and Sports Wagon, BMW will introduce a 5 Series diesel and the powerful 740d. The next generation BMW X5, due out in 2014, will also be powered by a 3.0 liter diesel. This engine is expected to put out 255 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque between 1500-3000 rpm.
Lastly, the facelifted BMW X3, also due out in 2014, will include a more powerful and efficient diesel turbo engine.
As usual, we will keep you posted on updates as we hear them.
