BMW is one of the most innovative companies in the world, and now the German luxury automaker is proving just how creative and advanced it really is. The BMW X3 is a luxury crossover that’s ready to take the electric luxury crossover segment by storm. Electric X3 models are officially on the way, and it isn’t the only model getting an all-electric version.
The German automaker skipped the Paris Motor Show to reconcile differences in electric vehicle strategy and come up with a new marketing plan. In all, the X3 crossover and X4 SUV will see electric models enter the fray.
The electric vehicle market is growing each and every year. BMW has led the pack with the i3 and plug-in hybrid i8, two innovative models that used carbon fiber rather than conventional metals like steel or aluminum.
Electric competitors, like General Motors, have released their own Chevrolet Bolt, a mass-market model that doesn’t usually appeal to luxury drivers. Audi has developed a plan to release an electric vehicle very year after 2018. Tesla Motors, a leader in the electric segment, expects to launch the Model 3 in 2017, though has experienced many delays.
Most automakers are launching electric cars. BMW, on the other hand, plans to lead the crossover and SUV segments with electric vehicles designed to possess the capability drivers expect.
Here at BMW of Springfield, we’re pumped for the release of the electric X3!
